SUPER DON QUIX-OTE WALKTHRU (2)

1ST GAME CYCLE

Bat Attack (Always 1st scene, leads to Avalanche, Pyramid, or Totem Poles)

Follow the arrows right, then back left again until he draws the sword.

At the start of the adventure, Don is besieged by four winged creatures conjured up by the evil witch. First follow the arrows RIGHT (while on the donkey), RIGHT (after Don is on foot), and then RIGHT to move under the old tree branch. Now go LEFT to roll back the way you just came. After Don jumps to his feet and unsheathes his sword, press SWORD to kill the first bat, SWORD again for the second, and finally SWORD again to finish the final two in a single blow.

Avalanche/Earthquake (Follows Bats, Priestess or Tomb. Moves to Pyramid, Totem Poles, or Graveyard I)

Zigzag away from the falling rocks.

Don (atop his mule) and Sancho are running through a rocky pass. The witch curses at her crystal ball, and lightning strikes a jagged peak above, crumbling debris down upon them. Watch for the arrows and move DOWN as the first mass collapses, and then LEFT to get out of the way of the second. Now you’ll see the group react as the ground trembles and splits underneath them. Don dismounts and his companions convienently exit stage left, leaving you to tap RIGHT to leap out of the way of an opening crevasse. Now go LEFT to jump back the way you came as more of the earth falls away. Don will jump on to a remaining plateau, which also starts to come apart. Go LEFT again to the second ledge, and finally LEFT to land on stable footing.

Totem Poles (Appears after Bats or Tomb. Always proceeds to Priestess)

More rights and lefts; just keep dodging, but don't forget the secret move.

Don and company walk before a tall ornate totem pole. Tribal clansman nearby beat their war drums, and the obelisk comes to life, seperating into several sections and levitating in the air. They begin to circle while you draw your sword. Press LEFT to avoid the swooping attack of the first piece, and then RIGHT for the second. Now the beaked middle piece presses down upon you. Push LEFT to jump out of its path, and then RIGHT as it tries again. You’ll notice Don cuts this totem pole with his sword as he leaps around it. This is an alternate move. Pressing the SWORD button instead of RIGHT has the same outcome, but will score you higher points. Finally, the first two sections move in for the kill. Press DOWN to duck under their first volley, and then UP to perform Don’s amazing super jump. They remaining totems will collide and explode as Don lands safely in the foreground.
