SUPER DON QUIX-OTE WALKTHRU (7)
By Sean HarrisFlying Jellyfish (Always follows Tornado/Sand Dragon. Returns to Anaconda if Tornado/Sand Dragon began cycle)
While taking a breather at the oasis, the team are assaulted by electric jellyfish. The donkey is zapped and Sancho runs off after him, while Don draws his sword to repel further advances. The creatures float out of the water and up into the sky as a wriggling mass. This is mostly a long section of button pushings. Use SWORD and SWORD again on the first two jellyfish that swoop down on you. Follow with another SWORD and SWORD for the next two. Don will try to run and it looks like you might have to dodge as another pair comes down, however wait for the prompts and hit SWORD and SWORD instead to destroy them over your shoulder. Don spins back around and the angle changes to their vantage.
Another jellyfish will descend down to you, so hit SWORD. Another follows…hit SWORD again. Now the remaining ones cluster together and turn into a giant jellyfish monster. After a moment, it lunges down upon you, so press UP when it’s about to collide with your torso. Don will perform a super jump, and upon coming down again in front of the behemoth, quickly hit SWORD to thwack a giant slash into its midsection. Like all good deaths in this game, the writhing blob will explode into an impressive conflagration.
3RD GAME CYCLE
The River
This is the longest scenario in the game, and it’s broken into three distinct parts. This is a good thing for you, since if you die (and you will, before you know this level inside out) you will only have to start back at the beginning of whichever section you were in.
Section A: The Flood
Don is wandering down an empty river bed, when a flash flood takes him by surprise. Things really begin going fast at this stage; push DOWN to start running away from the rushing water. When the shot changes and you see the tall rock, press UP to leap on top of it. The river will pass under you and fill the rest of the bed. Unfortunately, the strong currents begin wearing down the stone and they start breaking. Press RIGHT to jump to the second one, and then DOWN to the third (alternate move of LEFT can be used). Don will take a moment to breathe a ‘phew’, but then notice the rock pillar he’s now standing on is also coming apart.
When it changes angles again, and you see two new rocks in the foreground, jump RIGHT to the second one. Do not go down to the third one, however–see the branch right above you? Hit UP instead when the arrow prompts to leap up and grab it. The scene will end on a huffing Don hanging dearly to his savior before cutting to an angry reaction from the witch.
